The Member of Parliament for the Salaga South Constituency, Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimiah, has officially launched her flagship development funds aimed at supporting women, students and the youth in the constituency.

Speaking to the media at the launch ceremony, Ibrahimiah explained that the three-tier initiative focuses on education, women’s empowerment, and youth development.

She described the programme as a strategic effort to promote inclusive growth and social development in Salaga South.

The MP also used the occasion to welcome traditional authorities, including the Chief, Queen Mothers, elders, party executives, teachers, students, women’s groups, youth and security agencies present at the event.

Ibrahimiah noted that the launch of the funds marks a significant milestone in the collective journey of the people of Salaga South toward building a stronger, more inclusive and prosperous constituency.

She emphasised that the flagship funds are not merely financial interventions but strategic investments in the future of the people, particularly in education, which she described as the foundation of sustainable development.

Through the education fund, she said the initiative seeks to support brilliant but needy students, improve access to quality education and remove financial barriers that hinder children from achieving their dreams.

According to her, no child in Salaga South should be denied an education due to financial constraints.

She further revealed that even before the official launch of the Chief Baba Ibrahimiah Educational Fund, several tertiary students from the constituency had already benefited.

Among them are Madam Joyce Nyatey, a midwifery student at the Nurses and Midwifery Training College, Inusah Fataw, an ICT student at the University for Development Studies (UDS), Madam Adizatu, a first-year medical student in China; Nuredeen, an education student at UDS and Mugadash, a medical student at UDS.

She noted that these beneficiaries represent only a fraction of the many students who have received support from the fund.

Ibrahimiah called on all stakeholders, traditional leaders, party executives, civil society organizations and the general public to support the initiative, stressing that development is a shared responsibility.

She expressed confidence that with collective effort, a brighter future could be built for the Salaga South Constituency.

Before concluding her remarks, the MP expressed heartfelt appreciation to her mother, Mariam Zainab, for her unwavering support and inspiration.

She reaffirmed her commitment to working with all stakeholders to transform the Salaga South Constituency.
