The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has announced the promotion of 19 senior police officers from the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) to Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), in recognition of their distinguished service to the nation.

In addition, more than 100 other personnel across various ranks of the Ghana Police Service have also been promoted for their dedication, courage and sacrifices in the line of duty.

The promotions were announced at a special decoration ceremony held on Wednesday December 24, 2025, at the National Police Headquarters, where the IGP underscored the Police Administration’s commitment to rewarding officers who demonstrate professionalism, resilience and exceptional commitment in the performance of their duties.

A significant highlight of the promotions was the elevation of all personnel of the IGP’s Special Taskforce.

The Taskforce, led by ASP Bawah Jalil, was recognised for its outstanding operational performance.

ASP Bawah Jalil has consequently been promoted to the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), alongside the advancement of members of the Taskforce.

Addressing the gathering, Yohuno explained that "the promotions reflect the Service’s resolve to acknowledge officers who exhibit perseverance, discipline and integrity in the course of their work."
