The Central East Regional Police Command has arrested 33 suspects following a series of intelligence-led operations carried out across parts of the region as part of efforts to clamp down on criminal activity before, during and after the festive season.

According to the police, in a statement dated December 19, 2025, the targeted swoops were conducted in the early hours of December 16 and 17, 2025, within the Kasoa Old Market, Awutu Breku, Gomoa Buduatta, Senya Breku and surrounding communities.

“The targeted swoops… led to the arrest of thirty-three (33) suspects,” the Police stated, adding that some of those arrested were found in possession of substances suspected to be Indian hemp as well as quantities of Tramadol.

“Some of the suspects had substances suspected to be Indian hemp and some quantities of Tramadol in their possession. Forty-five (45) motorbikes were impounded in the process. One (1) toy gun was also retrieved,” the statement disclosed.



The police statement signed by the Head of Public Affairs of the Central East Region, DSP Victor Kofi Dosoo added that 45 motorbikes were impounded and one toy gun was retrieved.

The Command noted that verification and documentation checks are currently ongoing for all the impounded motorbikes, while the suspects are being screened as part of investigations.



“The arrested suspects are being screened as part of investigations. Those found culpable will be put before court to face justice,” the statement assured.

The Police indicated intelligence-led operations will continue across the region to ensure the safety of lives and property during the festive period and beyond.
