The body of the late Ghanaian highlife legend Charles Kojo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba has arrived at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium after the body departed the family house following a brief private family ceremony.

In a video circulating online, the body is seen in a casket being carried by family members into a vehicle after the private ceremony.

The body was subsequently transported to the funeral grounds at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium for the final farewell.

Upon arrival at the stadium, family members were seen among the delegation escorting the body, including Abusuapanin Tupac.

Daddy Lumba, is currently having his final funeral rites at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

The music legend, who passed away on July 26, 2025, at the age of 60, has been at the centre of a complex family dispute over who has the authority to lead and finance his funeral arrangements.

Despite the legal issues and family brouhaha, the Accra High Court on December 12, 2025, ordered that Daddy Lumba’s funeral should proceed as planned on December 13, 2025.

This followed an earlier court ruling which stated that the applicants seeking to stop the funeral were required to deposit GH¢2 million with the court by 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025. Failure to do so would allow the funeral to proceed on Saturday, December 13, 2025.

The court noted that while it respected the applicants’ concerns, granting the injunction would have significant financial implications and could unfairly burden the respondents.

The judge therefore ordered the applicants, who include members of Daddy Lumba’s maternal family, to pay GH¢2 million as security to cover potential costs arising from any delay.

However, after the applicants failed to pay the required amount, the court ruled that the funeral could proceed as scheduled on December 13.
