The Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI) has organised a seminar for its members on the review of the 2026 budget.

The seminar afforded members the opportunity to study the budget and its impact on businesses across the country, especially those working in the private sector.

In line with the review, the leadership of the Chamber urged the government to streamline measures required in the budget for the private sector to collaborate effectively with the government to achieve the desired targets as contained in the budget.

"The Chamber intends to work closely with the government in protecting gains made by the Ghanaian economy in the past year," President of the Chamber Stephane Miezan said.

He believes a strong private sector in partnership with the government will be able to deliver the nation a quick economic recovery.

However, he indicated that this could only be achieved once the two sectors align amicably in the interest of the economy and ultimately the country.

He said a strong public-private collaboration will reposition the country's economy through essential programmes and projects.

Addressing members of the Chamber at the 2026 budget review seminar organised to educate members on its impact on businesses across the country, Stephane Miezan appealed to players in the private sector to also take a keen interest in opportunities presented by the government in the budget to grow their businesses.

This year's budget review seminar for members of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI) was primarily organised as an industry development move for businesses in the country.

The seminar was to help businesses assess their financial performance with the 2026 budget, identify areas of improvement, and make informed decisions through the budget ahead of 2026.

The seminar also enabled members to review strategies contained in the budget statement presented by the government, adjust strategies, and plan for future growth, aligning with the Chamber's goals.

Participants, at the end of the intense session, benefited from shared experiences, best practices, and learned a lot from the various speakers who shared industry expertise to help them foster collaboration with the government to speed up and spread the growth of their businesses.

The speakers also analysed the budget variances that businesses could identify to deal with potential risks and mitigate them.

Professor Patrick Opoku Asuming, who was the main speaker at the seminar, called for an efficient and effective public-private partnership to help accelerate the empowerment of businesses and ultimately the economic growth of the country.

Professor Patrick Opoku Asuming, Economist and Associate Professor at the University of Ghana Business School, also highlighted the impact of the Value Added Tax regime in industry management.
