The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has confirmed the death of six people during a stampede at the commencement of its 2025/2026 recruitment exercise at the El-Wak Sports Stadium in Accra on Wednesday, November 12, 2025.
According to the army, the stampede occurred as some applicants rushed to the stadium gates before the start of the screening.
In a statement broadcast by TV3, the army indicated that the six deceased were applicants and added that several others had also been injured.
