Former North Tongu DCE dies in road accident

A former DCE for North Tongu, Osborn K Divine Fenu, has reportedly died in a fatal accident on the Tema-Aflao Road on Sunday, October 26, 2025.

The news was shared by journalist Della Russell Ocloo on her Facebook page on Monday, October 27, 2025.

The former DCE had reportedly visited his aged mother in his hometown in the Volta Region.

"While returning to Accra on Sunday evening, he was said to have been involved in an accident around the Central University at Miotso on the Tema-Aflao road. He was said to have been rushed to the Tema General Hospital but reportedly passed away," she wrote.

Divine Fenu was appointed DCE in 2021 and served in the position until the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo-led government left office in 2024.

Here is a brief profile of Osborn Fenu

Fenu began his basic education at Vome Methodist Basic School, completing in 1995.

He continued at Aveyime Battor Senior High Technical School (ABAST), where he studied Agriculture and graduated in 1998.

Fenu then proceeded to St Francis College of Education from 2000 to 2003.

He was posted to Dadome LA JHS in September 2003, where he taught for three years before transferring to Battor Methodist JHS for two years.

He later pursued a first degree in Psychology with English at the University of Ghana and completed it in 2012.

Upon his graduation, he was posted to his alma mater, Aveyime Battor SHTS, where he continued his teaching career.

Throughout his life, Divine Fenu was dedicated to education and public service, leaving a lasting impact on both his students and the North Tongu community.

He also served as NPP constituency secretary in North Tongu.
