GWL: Fire at Dodowa Booster Station cuts water supply to parts of Accra

The Ghana Water Limited (GWL) has announced a temporary interruption in water supply to several communities in North-Eastern Accra following a fire outbreak at the Dodowa Booster Station.

The incident has forced the temporary shutdown of the facility to allow for urgent repairs.

GWL to prosecute illegal water connection offenders

In a statement issued on Saturday, August 23, GWL's Communications and Public Relations Department said engineers are currently working around the clock to restore the station to full operation.

The water supply disruption affects several key areas, including East Legon, Agbogba, Haatso, Atomic, Frafraha, Ashaley Botwe, Adjiringanor, Ashongman, Dome, Adenta, Madina, and Oyarifa.

Residents in these communities may experience either low water pressure or a complete outage.

GWL has assured the public that it is making alternative supply arrangements to support essential institutions like hospitals and schools.

The management of GWL expressed its regret for the inconvenience caused and thanked the public for their patience as efforts are made to restore normal supply as quickly as possible.
