Men are refusing to marry, let alone form relationships because their assets will be handed over to women.
This is a slippery slope to doom. Today, birth rates are reducing in these countries and women are crying for such laws to be reversed.

Hmm….I think this is an urgent call for men to rise up and take a stand. In the modern society of Ghana, the idea that women are slaving for the man and should be handed the hard earned property of men is as ridiculous as the one making the case for it. Many women sit in marriages doing virtually nothing and simply tapping their feet for property sharing day. In many cases they also poison the minds of the children while the man working hard to pay for everything that provides comfort in the home. When will men also say enough is enough? Even the way things stand now, I won’t advise any young man to marry.

Please, “spousal property rights” was not thought of only to benefit women in marriage, but also the male partner if on death of one person the remaining female or male spouse becomes unduly burdened financially or property wise (compared to the deceased spouse).
Unfortunately in the Ghanaian society of the past, women in spousal relationships were often disadvantaged on the death of their male marital companions, this was a fact. Yes, in contemporary Ghanaian society a good number of women (a minority by the way) are able to stand on their own “two feet” following the death of their male spouse. Yet, majority of women (and some men) are still at a disadvantage in Ghanaian society if sadly their significant other dies.
Let us as a people look on this legislation as a positive step in the right direction, and not through the lens of macho men or greedy relativesof a deceased person.

This is the sneaky argument feminists in the Western world used to pass anti men laws and today, its blowing in their faces.
Marriage rates have plummeted. Birth rates are on the floor. Women are crying that men are not even looking at them.
I also know in my 26 year of leaving in Europe where women have just gotten bored in their marriages whatever it means, fucks another man then go to court to claim that they want the mans property.
This is because they know such laws will allow them to annex the mans property.
I work in this area of law sl know. During my Law School days in Bloomsbury, feminists in my class advocated for these laws not to be widely discussed in the public domain because it will not be good for society cohesion. We laughed our heads out and those of us who advocated for it to be well known were criticised and the tutors, the female ones of course penalised us at every turn.
I have many female colleagues who are resigning left right and center. The reason being that men are not even considering them for relationships. Anytime they tell a man that they have legal qualifications, the man gets cold feet and walks away. As we are in our late 40s and 50s, these men have built property and are scared that she will come into his life then use the feminist laws to annex his property.
Time and time again, my female colleagues who are chronically single, alone and lonely tell you in private that they regret these laws were passed because it has affected their marriage prospects and where they are now, they have no hope but in public, they put up a brave face.
Pass such laws in Ghana and you women will be wailing in the streets.

What we often see are well-practiced rhetorical strategies employed by feminists. They deliberately use words like “fairness,” “justice,” “equality,” “deserve,” and “men and women” to frame their arguments in appealing terms. However, the substance of the proposals/laws rarely matches those noble concepts. In reality, these measures often function to shift resources and advantages from men to women.
On paper, laws are written with gender-neutral language. But in practice, their real impact comes through interpretation, enforcement policies, and judicial precedent. Having worked in this area for years after Law School at Bloomsbury, I’ve seen firsthand how this plays out.
For instance, in the UK, police policy in domestic situations is to remove the man from the home as a first step, based on the assumption that he is stronger and the woman more vulnerable. This happens regardless of his actual health condition—whether he has high blood pressure, cancer in remission, blood clots, or is unemployed. While the law doesn’t explicitly say men should be treated differently, enforcement makes it so. If the man has nowhere to go, he’s placed in a police cell or a shelter, environments that often include drug addicts and people with severe mental health challenges—places utterly foreign to many of these men.
One case I advised on involved a man who had nearly finished paying off his home. Unbeknownst to him, a woman he was involved with had targeted his property. At one point, she even brought another man into the house and they were having sex which he knew the man will definitely see but she wanted a reaction which will result in the man being thrown out of the house upon police attending. For nearly two years, he endured police removals, arrests, and legal exclusion from his own property. In the end, it was only luck—and a perceptive judge—that allowed him to regain his home and prevent the woman from taking it outright.
Situations like this illustrate the hidden consequences of such laws. That’s why, today, I advise men with property or assets never to cohabit with a woman or allow them to use their home address under any circumstances.
When the rhetoric of “fairness” masks outcomes that consistently disadvantage men, can we really still call it justice? My answer is unequivocal: NO!!!!!!!!!!.

Where I came from, I mean my tribe, whatever I have belongs to my wife and my children, especially the children and we do not make "Wills" or anything, and this is a generational thing.
I am not trying to "downplay" anything but our traditional laws regarding property rights are good and instead of supporting that we have super imposed it with the greedy rights from the West and here we are. Right now, most women go into marriage with the sole aim of getting something from the man through thick and thing.

No Madam. I have personally witnessed and experienced how mcheating Ghanaian women can be.
My brother died young but had a lot of investements and money. He left behind 5 children. Our family handed over the inevestment and all the money to his wife.
She married another man and neglected the children. Our family had to turn round to support the children. If I had gone the traditional setup, she would have gotten a small portion of the wealth and the rest would have be saved for the children. Now her new man is enjoying the toil and sweat of my brother.
I now understand the wisdom of the old and the inheritance law should be ,made better to favor children more.
We love our women but we don't trust them. They kill us a lot.
Why don't you pass a law to require any Ghanaian man below the age of 75 if he should die there should be a post morten examination to be performed before burial? This would be a great law for we die young in the hands of these gold diggers.
