President John Dramani Mahama and other high-profile government officials on Saturday August 9, 2025, attended a vigil to honor the eight people who died in the recent helicopter crash.
The president expressed deep sadness over the devastating incident, which claimed the lives of two ministers and six others, and urged the bereaved families to remain strong during this difficult time.
Held on August 9, 2025, the vigil provided an opportunity for the families of the deceased to share their memories and reflections about their loved ones.
The event drew prominent figures from the political sphere, religious leaders, and other distinguished personalities who came to mourn the victims.

Government officials in attendance included Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin, First Lady Lordina Mahama, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, Dr Randy Abbey, and Kwame Governs Agbodza, among others.
Representing the New Patriotic Party (NPP) were former President John Agyekum Kufuor, former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Henry Quartey, and several others.
