He recounted how he convinced the late minister to join the National Democratic Congress (NDC) after initially serving in the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
“I managed to convince Omane to join the NDC after I had been instructed by Professor Mills to recruit all past NUGS presidents. He was then with the NPP and did not like the NDC, but he became very close to me, like a son”, he said.
Ahwoi also disclosed that plans for the launch of Dr Boamah’s new book may still proceed, with possible involvement from his wife, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, or Felix Kwakye Ofosu.
Dr Boamah died alongside seven others when a military helicopter went down in a tragic crash on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
The government has announced plans to hold an inter-denominational state funeral for the eight individuals who lost their lives in the tragic helicopter crash at Adansi Akrofuom.
According to President John Dramani Mahama, the state funeral will take place on Friday, August 15, at the Black Star Square.
