The nursing and midwifery association have soil their reputation by undertaking a senseless strike that resulted in the loss of lives . The have gone against the principles of the nursing profession.
Akuffo and his corrupt NPP gave in to the demands of the nurses just to win their votes without factoring the demands in their budget. The nurses did not go on strike to demand the implementation of their demands until the NPP lost the elections and the NDC took over power. The NDC had no money left in national coffers to honor these demands because Akuffo Addo and the NPP deliberately emptied the national coffers with nothing left for the NDC to sustain the government. This meant that the NDC couldn’t fulfill that promise to the nurses and will have to renegotiate with the nurses but the NPP in an effort to sabotage the NDC government supported the nurses with their strike. It is good that the nurses have come to their senses by suspending their strike because Mahama and the NDC would have fired all of them , revoke their licenses and hired those nurses who are still unemployed.

That is if it has the bargaining certificate to negotiate on behalf of those members or nurses employed by the state.
But if its bargaining certificate does not cover those employed by the state, then all what has gone on is null and void and have no effect.
