The Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has maintained the producer price for the 2025/2026 crop season.
This was announced in a letter to the Licensed Cocoa Buyers’ Association of Ghana, following a comprehensive evaluation of the operational and financial impacts on the local cocoa industry
In the letter, the Acting Deputy Chief Executive of COCOBOD, Dr James Kutoati said the board’s decision was made with the goal of ensuring long-term stability and sustainability within Ghana’s cocoa sector.
“This decision comes after careful consideration of the operational and financial implications for the cocoa industry,” he stated.
Currently, the producer price is set at GH¢3,100 per 64kg bag, marking a marginal increase of 0.03% compared to the previous rate announced in September for the 2024/2025 crop season.
The adjustment, which equates to GH¢49,600 per tonne, is aimed at aligning cocoa prices with prevailing market conditions and providing much-needed support to Ghanaian cocoa farmers.
