The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, has assured the new leadership of the National Investment Bank PLC (NIB) of his consistent and fervent spiritual assistance as they seek to turn around the dwindling fortunes of Ghana’s premier investment bank.

He gave the assurance when the leadership of the NIB PLC, led by the Managing Director, Dr. Doli-Wura Awushi Abdul-Malik Seidu Zakaria, called on him to donate some food items.

The items, which include bags of rice and sugar and an undisclosed amount of money, were presented to the leader of the Islamic faith in the country to support him in marking the month of Ramadan and also to seek his support.

In his brief remarks, Dr. Doli-Wura Awushi Abdul-Malik Seidu Zakaria said that while intelligence and competence are essential ingredients needed by him and management to succeed, the role of spiritual fortification cannot be overemphasized.

He, therefore, appealed to the Chief Imam to include him and the NIB in his topics for the Ramadan prayers as they embark on a journey to make the NIB a key feature of Ghana’s development.

He restated the potential of the NIB PLC as a key funding source for infrastructure development in the country and lamented its current status.

He, however, believes that with the support of the Chief Imam and other key stakeholders, he would be able to steer the NIB PLC from its current state to a level where the financial institution is able to perform to perfection the duties and objectives principal to its establishment.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Chief Imam, Sheikh Armiyawo Shaibu, the spokesperson of the National Chief Imam, congratulated Dr. Doli-Wura Awushi Abdul-Malik Seidu Zakaria for his appointment and commended him for the donation.

He stated that the recognition and honor done to the Chief Imam’s office will not go unnoticed and that prayers will be offered to ensure that the new leadership achieves its objectives for the NIB.

He assured them that the doors of the Chief Imam will continue to be open to them and that they should not hesitate to call on him when the need arises.
