Rt. Rev. Dr. Bishop Gordon Kisseih, First Vice President of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) and General Overseer of Life International Church, has called on President John Dramani Mahama to sign into law the bill that criminalizes identifying as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer or Questioning (LGBTQ+), with penalties of up to three years in prison for those found guilty.

Bishop Kisseih made this appeal during the opening ceremony of the 2025 Pentecostal and Charismatic Council Heads of Churches and Organizations Conference, which commenced on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at the Pentecost Convention Centre in Gomoa Fetteh.

"The bill on LGBTQ+ is at the very heart of ethics and morality and has a significant impact on the family unit in Ghana," he stated in an interview with journalists during the convention.

Under the theme "Walk the Calling," the conference aims to address pressing national issues.

"As the First Vice President of GPCC, I am calling on the president to sign the recently passed Proper Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill into law as soon as possible, as it seeks to protect Ghanaians," Bishop Kisseih emphasized.

He noted that the bill underwent a rigorous legislative process, including consultations with civil society, religious groups, and traditional organizations, ensuring diverse perspectives were considered.

"I am satisfied with the outcome," he said. "I believe due diligence was done, and the new president must sign it into law without delay."
