K'si Has Investment Potentials - British Envoy

MR. KEVIN LYNCH, First Secretary (Commercial) of the British High Commission, says he would recommend Kumasi as a potential investment area outside Accra to his government.

Lynch, 44, said his outfit would consider a regular visit to the region to assess business potentials.

"The micro-economics of the region is worth looking at," he told a gathering of businessmen at a reception held in his honour during his maiden visit to Kumasi.

The British Secretary has already visited the Ghana Chamber of Commerce and interacted with members in Takoradi since he assumed office six months ago.

His last duty post was Saudi Arabia.

At a meeting with members of the local Chamber of Commerce, Lynch suggested that the development of the tourism potentials and the private sector would go a long way to improving the economy.

He said the growth of Ghana-British trade links would largely depend on quality goods.

The Regional Chairman of the local Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Phillip Yaw Amakye, appealed for assistance in sourcing business partners and the procurement of office equipment for the Chamber's secretariat.
