VRA pledges to implement community development projects

Aboadze (W/R), Oct 28, GNA - Ms Abla Fiadjoe, the Director of General Services of the Volta River Authority (VRA), has assured communities in its operational area of the company's commitment to implement development projects stated in its Community Development Initiative Framework Document (CDIFD).

She said this at a public forum held at Aboadze on Tuesday. The forum was used as a platform for community members to express their concerns and development needs whilst the VRA explained its operations to the communities in its catchments area. Ms Fiadjoe reiterated the VRA's commitment to assist them in the area of education through scholarships, road construction, youth development training and cultural activities. She said the VRA would collaborate with the district assembly in providing the pressing needs of the people in its operational areas. Ms Fiadjoe said the VRA would deepen its community relations through dialogue based on mutual understanding and added that VRA would meet the residents of Aboadze twice a year to acquaint itself with the concerns of the people.

The Chief of Aboadze, Nana Kobina Atom III, appealed to the VRA to build a technical school for the community to enable the youth in the area acquire technical training so as to make them employable. He also appealed to the VRA to refurbish the public places of convenience and tar the main roads of the town.
