What is law.. if a student is late does it not affect his own performance.. which is better.. making him try the exam where he or she may have a chance to pass or preventing him which will set him back for months if not a year. There are better laws we need to implement as a country which will benefit us instead of this face facing gimmicks.
There is a law on procurement which we are flouting with impunity to steal loads of money... those are the ones that matter

Laws are made for different situations. If the law on procurement is not working it doesn't mean the law on examinations shouldn't work too. Why should a student going to write exams report at the exams centre a whole one hour late? What is the duration of the paper? There could be only one reason fòr the lateness - waiting for 'appor". To me it serves them right. Did you read the head of the school said tgey were habitual latecomers? These are students who would not learn but want to use any means possible to pass. It doesn't work that way.

I disagree with the stance of the school authority on this. If WAEC says candidates should be seated 30 minutes before the exams start, it is never the same as candidates who come to exams hall after the examination had started shouldn't be allowed to write the paper. So with regards to candidates who wrote the exams, did everyone of them sit 30 minutes before the exams commenced? What about the candidates who say 25 minutes, 20 minutes, 15 minutes or 5 minutes to the time? Were they also prevented from writing the exams? Going by the rule, if a candidate arrives at the exams hall 29 minutes to the time examination started, he has equally flouted the rule. This is common sense. The candidate is already at disadvantage if he reports late so you don't compound the problem by disallowing him to sit for the exams. I am shocked to the bone bcos this doesn't make sense even one bit to me.

Jumbo, get yourself acquainted with the WAEC rules. Students are to get seated 30 minutes before the exams starts. Once the supersor says "start work", no candidate will be permitted to enter again. The reason is mainly because people stay late after the paper has started with the hope of getting access to questions from other sources where teachers without conscience send questions outside for some small financial gains. Jumbo, let us encourage our kid brothers and sisters to be law abiding. These rules were read out to them days or weeks before they started the exams. They know it. You can ask the affected students you are defending and they will tell you they know they are violating the rules. Let the children bear the consequences of their actions sometimes, so they can grow up to be responsible citizen one day.

Why the insult? I disagreed with a decision taken by the school but l didn't insult anybody. I am expressing opinion. The best thing an intellectual should do was to indicate why you think l was wrong but not to insult. I have stated why l disagree with the school authority. If candidates are to be seated 30 minutes before exams starts are you telling me if another candidate comes in 29 minutes or 5 minutes to the time, has he not equally flouted the rules? My little understanding of what the school authority said is that, candidates are to be seated 30 minutes before examination begins. He didn't say WAEC says in that instance the candidates must not be allowed to write the exams. This is a matter of legality so don't just speak out of emotions.

I beg to differ. The rules pertaining to WAEC examination are that,
1. as a candidate, you are supposed to be seated 30mins before the start of a paper. This is so to enable candidates to have enough time to fill in the necessary information they need on the answer paper and go through the questions before the paper commence.
2. Then again, a candidate will not be allowed to take part in the examination if he or she comes 30mins after the start of the paper.
3. A candidate will not be allowed to leave the examination hall five (5) minutes to the end of the paper.

From the story, these students were prevented from writing part two of the social studies paper meaning they wrote part one which was the essay in the morning. That's a three hour paper which ended around 11: 30 am or thereabout. The part two which is the objective test is a fifty minutes paper. If they were an hour late, it meant they arrived at the exams center when they were left with only twenty minutes to end the paper. Let me explain this. The first thirty minutes was for them to be seated before the commencement of the paper and another thirty minutes when the paper was in progress. This shouldn't to tolerated.

I thought the only stupid persons Ghanaians have to manage with is Bawumia, Napo, wuntumi,Abronye dc,KT Hammond,Owusu Bimpa and Miracle Aboagye not knowing that there far more stupid people like you.
Hey Jimbo, stop the nonsense. Read the rules very carefully and compare with your argument and see which one makes sense?
Why the insult? I disagreed with a decision taken by the school but l didn't insult anybody. I am expressing opinion. The best thing an intellectual should do was to indicate why you think l was wrong but not to insult. I hav ...

I beg to differ. The rules pertaining to WAEC examination are that,
1. as a candidate, you are supposed to be seated 30mins before the start of a paper. This is so to enable candidates to have enough time to fill in the nece ...

RULES ARE RULES. THEY HAVE TO ABIDE BY THE RULES TO BE GOOD CITIZENS IN THE FUTURE.
Why should they be stopped from writing??? If they are one hour late, who does the lateness affect,it affects themselves. Allo these boys to seat for this paper ,damnnnnnnn
One hour late, no where in the world will they be allowed to write the exams. Authorities took the right decision. Those miscreants will learn to adhere to laws and regulations next time.
Very good decision. Ghanaians should learn to respect time. Too much anarchy and lack of discipline in our society. We should put a stop to this if we want to make a breakthrough in our development efforts,
Bad boys stubborn academy
You get apor but didn’t have enough time to go through it lol
Probably Day Students caught up in traffic while going to school in trotros.
In this case you should wake up early so you can be in class at the right time
Please i suggest the school authorities, should have mercy on the students. This is future we are talking about here. Just give them some punishment. It's the parents who are going to suffer for ONE full year.
Rex authorities should have mercy on what? Is WAEC RULES FULL STOP. If they didn't enforce the WAEC RULES tomorrow another group will do the same. This GENERATION is very very STUBBORN
Why didn't these same parents insist they leave home early to avoid lateness? Which parents do they have?
From the story, these students were prevented from writing part two of the social studies paper meaning they wrote part one which was the essay in the morning. That's a three hour paper which ended around 11: 30 am or thereab ...

Indiscipline in the HIGHEST DEGREE.
These are the type of people who we call MPs and are making laws for us. Their indiscipline started from when they were in high schools.
Foolish Africans with old mentality.
This generation.. If you know you have an exam and live far what do you do? Sit home and be late or leave home early to avoid traffic? Plenty of them carry their heads on the body kwa!!! No brains in those skulls.. We were al ...

My worry is the place the interview was done. Absolutely disturbing the focus of the kids writing the exams.
Couldn't they have done it far from the exams room?
It's very very disturbing and distractive for the headmistress ...

What's the point of writing these useless exams anyway.afterall one cannot even find a job without given bribe.
Being late should be no cause for preventing a student from taking the exam. Let them take the exam, with the understanding that they will not be given any additional time.
What was the real reason for 7 students to be late a whole hour after the start of the examination, having being briefed of the examination rules and regulations far ahead of the commencement of the whole exams? Are they a cl ...

Are the 7 students /candidates residents of the school or they travel to the school? The traffic? Common sense is not common.
Why cant we camp these final year students to allow them peace of mind to write the exams?
Kudos to the headmistress. Those students are deliberately misbehaving. What will shock some of them is when the rich take their children abroad and those foolish ones coming from poorer homes are left behind to sweep the str ...
