Police arrest three suspects for disrupting limited registration exercise at Tepa

The police have arrested three individuals for engaging in a fight and causing a temporary disruption of processes in the ongoing limited voter registration exercise.

The suspects were apprehended at the Tepa Electoral Commission office in the Ashanti Region, according to the police.

The individuals have been identified as Abass Abukari, George Vinor, and Abdul Karim.

They are currently in police custody and are assisting with the investigation, as stated in a brief from the police.

The police have also confirmed that order has been restored and the registration exercise is proceeding smoothly.

"The Police have arrested three persons for engaging in a fight and causing a temporary disruption of the ongoing limited voter registration exercise at the Tepa Electoral Commission office in the Ashanti Region.

"The three suspects, Abass Abukari, George Vinor and Abdul Karim, are currently in Police custody assisting the investigation.

"Calm has since been restored as the registration exercise continues," a May 8, 2024 police statement said.
