President Kufuor returns from trilateral talks

Accra, Feb. 25, GNA - Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has returned to Accra on Thursday after a three-day visit to Monrovia, Liberia, where he addressed talks involving Africa, the United States and China.

A statement signed by Mr. Frank Agyekum, the Spokesperson for the former President, said the dialogue, initiated by the Leon H. Sullivan Foundation of the US, examined how the US and China were contributing to the social and economic development of Africa. Former President Kufuor, a member of the Board of Governors of the Foundation spoke on: "Perceptions on Corporate Social Responsibility in Africa."

Liberian President Mrs. Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf also addressed the meeting attended by business executives, academicians, analysts and policy makers from around the world who brain-stormed on how Africa could maximize its benefits in the globalised world economy. Participants shared experiences from across the world on best practices of corporate social responsibility and how this could impact positively on Africa's development.
