NDC-USA Welcomes Obama

NDC USA WELCOMES PRESIDENT OBAMA and Family to GHANA . NDC USA wishes to extend a heart-felt welcome to the President of United States of America, Barack Obama, and first lady Mrs. Michelle Obama and family on their historic visit to the Republic of Ghana.

With profound pride and great appreciation of the sterling leadership of President Mills, we are overjoyed by the honor, international attention and recognition such a visit brings to our ancestrial home Ghana, and to Africa.

Clearly, the Black Star of Africa, has exhibited wise leadership in its commitment to democracy, rule of law, and a vibrant civil society. In a continent that is mostly the focus of the international news media for civil strife and famine or other such ills, Ghana revel in the spotlight of the President of the United States’ visit as a beacon of hope to the rest of the African continent. It is our hope that the critical highlighting of the good and enduring principles of probity and accountability to the electorate, as the anchoring tenets of the current NDC administration, and the humble and selfless leadership traits as exhibited by both President Barack Obama and President Mills will have a lasting positive impact on the political leadership of all African countries.

The NDC USA in addition, congratulates the people of Ghana on the occasion of this visit, the third official visit of a United States President to Ghana, with full knowledge that as the beloved President of the United States sets his foot in Ghana he will experience the proverbial Ghanaian hospitality at every turn. It is an often stated fact that Ghana’s ability to peacefully transfer power from one political party to the other regrettably sets her apart from many in sub-saharan Africa. This is essentially a function of the primary characteristic love of peace, freedom and justice of the Ghanaian people.

Michele’s Obama’s ancestral home of OGUAA- CAPE COAST, cannot wait to say AKWAABA as she sets foot to her royal land of Tantri- Cape Coast. It is also with exceptional pride and exuberance that Ghana welcomes Sasha and Malia back to their true land of ancestry. Although the dungeons of Cape Coast castle, as well as those of other such castles in Ghana, were in centuries past, homes to such abject and inhumane treatment of our ancestors, the visit of Mrs.Obama and family at the Cape Coast castle is a poignant reminder of the ability of the human spirit to endure, and overcome the bleakest dark nights of existence. Is it not ironic that the Gate of No Return from where our blood and flesh were marched into the gallows of slave ships has now become the Gate of Return and drawing with the force of magnetic pull, the descendants of our ancient bretheren back to their true home and be received and reunited with genuine love and open arms?

NDC USA joins all Ghanaians to welcome Mrs obama and family back to their ancestral home.

May the friendly relationship between the two countries, United States and Ghana grow even stronger and closer by this visit as we witness more trade, the exchange of cultural, technical and economic relations.
