PNC supporters to vote for Prof. Atta Mills

Tumu (U/E), Dec. 27, GNA - Mr Bernard Morna, General Secretary of the People's National Convention (PNC) on Friday called on all supporters of the party to vote for Professor John Evans Atta Mills, Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Presidential Election Runoff.

Speaking on the same platform with Mr John Dramani Mahama, NDC Vice-Presidential Candidate, at Tumu, he said the New Patriotic Party (NPP) had planned the demise of the PNC.

Mr Morna said, while Mr Dani Baah, Former Deputy Minister of Health in the NPP Administration, stood as a parliamentary candidate for Sissala East, the NPP also fielded another candidate to contest the parliamentary seat.

"If anything at all, the NPP should have given consideration to Mr Dani Baah, who had served in the NPP administration but they did not appreciate the significant contribution he made to the growth of the country, they fielded a candidate to do away with him." Mr Morna said by that action, the NPP had shown no goodwill towards any other political party that could develop and contribute to the country's multi-party democracy. He, therefore, urged supporters of PNC to vote for Prof. Atta Mills, who was standing on the ticket of a party that had a similar ideology with the PNC.

Mr Mahama said although he was a Northerner he did not see himself as a Dagomba, a Sissila or a Gonja but was rather concerned with the development of Ghana.

He asked the people to vote for the NDC because it was the only party that was genuinely concerned about the development of the area. Mr Mahama asked the electorate to conduct their political activities peacefully.
