Brong-Ahafo Regio: NPP 13 NDC 7

Sunyani, Dec. 9, GNA - Certified results of the general elections from the Brong-Ahafo Regional office of the Electoral Commission (EC) has the ruling NPP winning 13 with the NDC securing seven from results so far declared. The EC has not received certified results for Asutifi North and Asutifi South, Kintampo North and Tano North constituencies. Mr. Robert Sarfo-Mensah of the NPP got 24,162 votes to retain the Asunafo North seat, beating Mr. Mohammed Doku of the NDC who got 21,069 votes. The Asunafo South seat was taken by the NPP candidate, Mr. George Yaw Boakye, who got 16,574 votes and Mr. Eric Opoku of the NDC got 15,921 votes.
The Minister of Food and Agriculture, Mr. Ernest Akubour Debrah, maintained his Tano North Parliamentary seat, polling 17,043 votes to beat the NDC candidate, Mr. Opoku Atuahene, who got 11,120 votes. In Sunyani East constituency, Mr. Kwasi Ameyaw Cheremeh obtained 33,765 votes to beat the NDC candidate, Mr. Justice Samuel Adjei, who got 18,830 votes.
Mr. Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, Regional Minister, had 24,048 votes to beat Mr. Kwadwo Nyamekye-Marfo of the NDC who got 14,233 votes to win the Sunyani West seat, whilst Mr. Kwaku Agyenim Boateng of the NPP secured 24,449 votes to maintain the Berekum seat for the party by beating the NDC candidate, Mr. Stephen Oppong who secured 21,693 votes. Mr. Yaw Ntow Ababio of the NPP retained the Dormaa East seat with 11,363 votes to beat the NDC candidate, Mr. I.K. Kyeremeh who had 6,465 votes.
In Dormaa West constituency, Mr. Kwaku Agyemang-Manu, Deputy Minister of Trade, Industry and President's Special Initiative, maintained the seat for the NPP by polling 23,991 votes to beat Mr. Vincent Oppong Asamoah who had 23,038 votes.
The Techiman North seat was captured by Prof Christopher Ameyaw-Akumfi, Minister of Ports, Harbours and Railways for the first time since 1992 with 14,307 votes as against 12,168 secured by the incumbent Mr. Alex Kyeremeh of the NDC.
Prof George Yaw Gyan Baffour, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, retained the Wenchi seat with 18,516 votes to beat his close rival, Mr. Yaw Osei Adjei who had 13,495 votes.
In the Jaman South constituency, Mr. Afful Yaw Maama of the NPP had 16,878 votes to beat Mr. Peter Kwabena Ankamah of the NDC who secured 10,372 votes whilst Major Derek Oduro (rtd) maintained the Nkoranza North constituency seat by obtaining 9,211 votes to beat Mr. Kwadwo Agyei-Dwomor of the NDC. Mr. Kwame Ampofo-Twumasi, Deputy Minister of Energy had 17,531
votes to retain the Nkoranza South seat by beating Mr. E. Kwadwo Agyenim of the NDC who polled 15,945 votes.
In Jaman North constituency, Alexander Asum Ahensah of the NDC obtained 13,359 votes to retain the seat to beat Mr. Siaka Stevens of the NPP who had 10,376 votes.
Mr. Ahmed Ibrahim of the NDC secured 14,965 votes to capture Tain constituency seat from Mr. Joe Danquah of the NPP who managed 12,048 votes whilst Mr. Prince Yaw Donyina, Techiman Municipal Chief Executive lost in his bid to take the Techiman South seat from NDC's Mr. Addai Simon. Mr Addai got 28,586 and Mr Donyina had 26,829 votes.
In Kintampo South constituency, Mr. Yaw Effa Baafi retained the seat for the NDC by securing 13,009 votes to beat Mr. Yaw Adjei-Duffour, Kintampo South District Chief Executive, who had 10,633 votes. Mr. Felix Twumasi-Awuah of the NDC obtained 14,166 votes to retain the Sene seat by beating Mr. Mohammed B. Abdulai of the NPP who had 10,568, whilst Mr. Gariba A. Iddrisu of the NPP obtained 8,994 votes and lost the Pru seat to the NDC candidate, Mr. Masoud A. Baba who secured 13,090 votes.
Mr. Emmanuel Owusu-Manu of the NDC had 13,743 votes to retain the Atebubu/Amantin constituency as he edged out Mr. Cassius Osei-Poku, District Chief Executive, who had 10,348 votes.
In the Presidential elections, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo of the NPP had 24,757 votes whilst Professor John Atta Mills of the NDC obtained 19,857 votes in Asunafo North. Nana Akufo-Addo had 17,246 votes while Prof. Mills obtained 11,126 votes in Tano North whilst in Asunafo South the NPP candidate polled 16,208 votes to beat Atta-Mills who had 15,803.
In Sunyani East, Prof. Mills had 20,056 votes whilst Nana Akufo-Addo obtained 32,841 votes. The NPP presidential candidate secured 22,812 votes in Sunyani West with Prof. Mills obtaining 15,759 votes whilst in Berekum Nana Akufo-Addo had 25,998 votes with Prof. Atta-Mills securing 20,706 votes.
Prof. Mills obtained 6,851 votes in Dormaa East whilst Nana Akufo-Addo secured 11,891 votes.
The NPP Presidential candidate had 24,216 whilst the NDC candidate secured 22,223 votes in Dormaa West constituency.
In the Jaman South Nana Akufo-Addo grabbed 17,333 votes with Prof. Atta-Mills securing 12,176 votes whilst in Jaman North Nana Akufo-Addo had 9,357 votes with Prof. Atta-Mills securing 13,587 votes.
Nana Akufo-Addo had 17,649 votes whilst Prof. Mills obtained 14,134 votes in Wenchi whilst in the Tain constituency, the latter obtained 16,211 votes and the former had 14,953 votes.
In Techiman North the NPP Presidential candidate obtained 13,730 votes with his NDC counterpart had 12,474 votes. Nana Akufo-Addo recorded 26,019 votes in Techiman South while the Professor obtained 29,394 votes whilst in Nkoranza North Nana Akufo-Addo had 9,166 votes with Prof. Atta-Mills securing 8,088.
In Nkoranza South, Nana Akufo-Addo obtained 15,894 votes whilst Prof. Atta-Mills had 16,936 votes.
Nana Akufo-Addo had 10,559 votes in Kintampo South whilst Prof. Atta-Mills had 12,710 votes.
In Atebubu/Amantin constituency the NPP candidate had 10,948 votes with his NDC counterpart securing 15,664 votes whilst in the Pru constituency Nana Akufo-Addo secured 11,266 votes with Prof. Atta-Mills obtaining 19,309 votes.
Nana Akufo-Addo had 8,007 votes in Sene constituency whilst Prof. Atta-Mills obtained 17,011 votes.
