Even President Kufuor would vote for Paa Kwesi Ndoum

CPP activists urged to campaign on issues that affect daily living

Juapong (V/R), July 22, GNA- The Flag Bearer of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP), Dr Paa Kwesi Ndoum on Monday urged the party's activists to campaign on the party's "ten point agenda for change you can feel in your pocket" and the CPP's 51 year-old legacies which the country continues to pride in.

Dr Ndoum made the call when he addressed a meeting of the party's activists in the Volta Region at Juapong. He urged the activists to avoid a campaign of insults and confusion, "we are not the party to cause confusion," he said. Dr Ndoum urged them to instead talk about simple things pertaining to living conditions that the electorate could understand and relate to their lives, "we don't make promises; that is not our style", he emphasized.

Dr Ndoum urged the activists to counter the psychological campaign of both the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) against the CPP to the effect that the party has no clout in this year's elections.

He said on the contrary the CPP was making significant gains through its organizational approach, which those parties feared. "We are applying hi-tech and guerrilla politics. We are using our brains", he said.

Dr Ndoum said those two parties were also aware that their combined achievements in the last 16 years of their rule, was insignificance when compared with what the CPP achieved in nine years out of the total 51 yearsthat Ghana had obtained. Dr Ndoum reminded the activists that this year's campaign was being waged around the record of achievements of the contending parties and the reality of the living conditions and the state of the country. He therefore urged the party's foot soldiers to counter the NDC's and NPP's psychological campaign against the party, by letting Ghanaians know the harm which the NDC and NPP have done to the country's vital interests, personality and psyche. He predicted that the December elections would go into a second round and the CPP would be one of those parties in that round, which "it will surely win".

"Even President Kufuor would vote for Paa Kwesi Ndoum", he said. Dr Emmanuel Yaovi Bobobi the North-Tongu Parliamentary candidate of the CPP said it was natural that the people of Tongu should restore their support for the CPP which 51 years ago proved faithful to them for their support.
