New Vision Party holds congress in Koforidua

Koforidua, July 04, GNA - Prophet Daniel Yaw Nkansah, Founder of the New Vision Party (NVP), on Friday assured Ghanaians that they would not be disappointed when the party comes into power after the December elections.

He said the NVP would take Ghanaians to a "new land" where their present hardships and deprivation would be a thing of the past. Prophet Nkansah who was speaking at the Eastern Regional delegate's congress of the party in Koforidua expressed regret that the government had imposed hardships on the people and said the NVP would restore smiles on Ghanaians when it comes into power. He refuted allegations that the Party is "a church Party" and said the NVP belongs to all and sundry who believed in the emancipation of the people.

Prophet Nkansah advised party supporters to mount educative campaign to sensitize the electorate on what the NVP stands for to be able to win more floating voters.

He also advised them to win people from other parties to join the NVP adding that politics is about numbers. Mr Emmanuel Ofosuhene Appenteng was elected Chairman of the Eastern Regional branch of the party with Mr Kwasi Owusu Asafo Adjei as the Vice Chairman.

The position of secretary went to Mr Opoku Debrah, Mr John Asante Adjei was elected the Organizer, Mr Emmanuel Dzissah, Youth Organizer and Ms Ernestina Frimpomaa, Women's Organizer.
