MTN appoints new Human Resource Executive

Accra, June 11, GNA - Mobile Telecommunications Network (MTN) Ghana, a GSM service provider in the country, on Wednesday announced the appointment of Mrs. Beryl Amma Benneh-Amponsah as its new Human Resource (HR) Executive.

A statement issued in Accra signed by Ms Mawuena Adjo Dumor, Corporate Service Executive, said until her appointment Mrs Benneh-Amponsah was the Senior Manager for Human Resource Operations of the company.

It said she had vast experience in the field of human resources and was instrumental in fuelling the growth of the company during the last few years through her contribution to people management strategies, policies, practices and efficient stakeholder management. "In her new role, she will be responsible for the development and execution of MTN's human resource strategic direction," the statement said.

The statement said Amma joins an increasing crop of Ghanaians at the executive level of the telecommunications operator and confirms MTN's commitment to the utilization of local professional expertise in operating countries.

It quoted Mr. Brett Goshen, Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana, as saying: "I am delighted to welcome another local professional to the executive level and I am confident Amma's contribution will be invaluable as MTN continues to consolidate its leadership of the Ghanaian telecommunications industry." Amma is a product of Wesley Girls High School and the University of Ghana Business School. She also holds an MBA in International Business from the William Morris Business School, Coventry University, U.K. The MTN Group is a global sponsor of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, South Africa. GNA
