PMMC Boss Arrested In South Africa

The Chairman of Precious Mineral Marketing Company (PMMC) Workers Union Mr. Stephen Pagfu who was being sought for by security agents for stealing precious gold and jewelry valued at over ¢5 billion, has been arrested in his hideout in far away South Africa.

Pagfus’s arrest in South Africa according to Security capos was as a result of THE SUN’s article posted on the INTERNET about the misdeeds of the Union Chairman, which was also featured on some international websites.

THE SUN gathered that upon reading the article on the internet, one of the Nigerian gang he was dealing with in South Africa, became suspicious and alerted the Ghanaian Mission about Pagfu’s presence, which later led to his arrest at a hideout in Soweto.

THE SUN gathered that Pagfu who is also the vice chairman of Ghana Mining Workers Union of Trade Union Congress (TUC), managed to escape from the purview of the PMMC and security agents through Sunyani, via Burkina Faso.

THE SUN gathered that the very day PMMC board members were planning how to hand over Pagfu to security agents was the last time anybody heard about him until his arrest in South Africa. On the fateful day, Pagfu, who, together with his wife were in-charge of the PMMC’s jewelry shop excused her when they reached Kaneshie in Accra that, he had a scheduled meeting with a friend and asked her to take the lead home at Kasoa.

After tricking his wife, he headed to Sunyani where he met a Forestry Commission Officer (name withheld), who helped him to dispose off his saloon car the next day.

After selling the car, the Forestry Commission man used his car to send Pagfu to Burkina Faso, where he booked a flight to UAE.

However, as fate would have it, luck run out on him when he went on a drinking spree and missed his flight. Pagfu therefore abandoned his travel to the UAE and rather directed his roots to South Africa. In South Africa, he was lodged in one of the best hotels in Johannesburg, creating suspicion about his background. While in that country, Pagfu found himself in the company of notorious Nigerian Criminals who moved to Soweto until one of them read THE SUN’s article and decided to tip the Ghanaian Mission off.

THE SUN gathered that following the tip-off, South Africa Security agents were alerted and picked Pagfu in Soweto. When he was searched, a quantity of Jewelry was found in his traveling bag.

He was expected to be flown to Ghana at the weekend.
