Vice Presdient To Act As Sports Minister

Vice President, Alhaji Aliu Mahama has been directed by President Kufuor to take temporary responsibility of the MOYS with immediate effect following the dismissal of Mallam Yusif Ali Issa.

Alhaji Mahama is is a known soccer fan who frequents the stadia for various matches and is thus expected to have some understanding of the issues confronting the sectoral ministry. Key among Alhaji Mahama's immediate priorities will be the nomination of 2 personalities for the post of GFA Chairman and the conduct of a belated probe into various affairs.

Meanwhile Parliament today disccussed the issues confronting the Ministry of Youth and Sports in respect of the circumstances surrounding the Mallam's sacking.

It's no secret that the Vice President and former GFA boss Alhaji Jawula are good friends and observers are putting a keen eye on how Alhaji Mahama handles the nominations for the GFA seat in particular.
