GREDA to hold housing show in Europe

Accra, March 26, GNA - The Ghana Real Estate Developers Association (GREDA) on Wednesday said it would embark on a three-country Housing Road show as part of activities to mark its 20th anniversary celebrations.

A statement signed by Dr. Alexander Tweneboa, President of GREDA, said the housing road show would begin in London and Milton Keynes in the United Kingdom on May 24-26 followed by Paris on May 28-29. It said the housing show which would end in Vicenza, Italy, May 31 would be officially opened by Mr. Annan Cato, Ghana High Commissioner to the UK.

The statement said approximately 30 of the country's leading estate developers and other representatives from some financial institutions such as HFC Bank, Barclays Bank, Ghana Home Loans would attend the Housing Exhibition.

It said the exhibition being organised by GREDA in conjunction with a U.K. property consulting firm, Regalon International, was expected to draw out a large number of Ghanaians based in these cities. The statement said the exhibition would give estate developers an opportunity to display to Ghanaians in London, Paris and Vicenza the tremendous advancement and opportunities now available in Ghana to prospective home buyers.

The statement said the exhibition also fell in line with the Government's policy of encouraging Ghanaians outside the country to assist the country in its development.

"For some time now one of Ghana's largest inflows of foreign capital is derived from Ghanaians living abroad who remit funds back to Ghana for the purchase of Homes," it said.
