I was not sacked from the chamber - MP

Accra, Feb 28, GNA- Mr. Kofi Frimpong, NPP Member for Kwabre East, on Thursday said media reports that the Speaker of Parliament sacked him from the Chamber for violating the parliamentary dress code on Wednesday was never true. The MP said he was asked to go and sit at the back and not ordered out of the chamber.

Mr Frimpong was wearing top and down deep green boubou with well polished black shoes to match before he left the House to attend board meeting of the Produce Buying Company.

He told the Ghana News Agency in an interview that the Speaker's attention was brought to what he was wearing following which he accepted to move to the back bench of the chamber. After putting things in order, he moved to the front seat to make his submission.

Mr Frimpong assured Ghanaians that he would in no way deliberately violate the laws of the land and was ready to serve his people for a second term.

He was confident that delegates would elect him as their representative at the primaries and urged his constituents to vote him back to power to continue the works he had started so far.
