GSE All-Share Index moves up in brisk trading

Accra, Feb. 11, GNA - Major gains by two financial equities during Monday's brisk trading on the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) pushed the GSE All-Share Index, the main market indicator, up by 33.56 points to 6,779.43 points from 6,745.87 points on Friday. SIC Insurance Company Limited (SIC) sold 707,000 shares while Cal Bank Limited (CAL) disposed of 223,100 shares out of the total of 936,700 shares traded.

Change year to date went up to 2.72 per cent from 2.21 per cent on Friday.

On the broader market the SIC shares continued to appreciate with a gain of GH¢ 0.05 to close at GH¢ 0.41, while CAL also gained GH¢ 0.05 to close trading at GH¢ 0.58. Ecobank Ghana Limited (EBG) and Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited (GGBL) went up by GH¢ 0.01 each to end trading at GH¢ 2.19 and GH¢1.24, respectively. Market capitalisation went up to GH¢ 13.26 billion.
