NDC will be vigilant during elections

THE NDC WILL BE VIGILANT DURING THE ELECIONS OF DECEMBER 2008 SAYS E. T Mensah

The Hon E. T Mensah, Vice National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress and Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram has declared the confidence of the NDC regarding victory in the General Elections in December, 2008 in Ghana.

The NDC strongman was speaking at a meeting in Bronx, New York organized by the NDC NY, also known as the NDC TRI-STATE chapter, to elect new executive members. The meeting, on Saturday, Febuary 02, 2008 which saw a small crowd of about forty members listened attentively to the member of parliament, as he spoke of lapses in the elections monitoring operations of NDC during the elections of 2004 that allowed the NPP to in many cases rig the elections.

Regarding the Elections of December, 2008 he stated that NDC will win massively, because the current National Executives of the party are doing all they can to effectively monitor the elections, and secure victory for the party from every polling station .

The Hon E. T Mensah stated that elections are won or lost on elections day, thus the current National executives of NDC is leaving no stone unturned in its effort to get the party machinery ready for the Election Day in 2008. He invited the general membership of the NY chapter to come to Ghana during this period, and assist with the party's effort especially in the area of monitoring polling stations and the results of the elections.

He admonished the newly elected executives to use their mandate to work towards unity in the chapter and the party as a whole.

The NDC TRI-STATE of NY/NJ/CT chapter elected new executives during the occasion. The elected officers comprise of a mixture of old executives and new ones. The acting chairman of the chapter Mr. Mustapha Ahmed stated that the chapter will organize a fund raising event on Saturday, February 23, 2008 which will also double as the chapter formal handing over ceremony.

The newly elected Chairman, Dr. George Lamptey thanked the Hon. E.T Mensah for his words of encouragement as well as the general membership for the trust they have displayed in him.

The NDC parliamentary candidate for Agona West, in the Central region, Mr. Theo F. Maranga Esq., a chapter member in good standing and graced the event and assisted with organizing the elections.
