Jones Attuquayefio To Be Fired??

GHANA COACH Jones Cecil Attuquayefio is to have showdown talks with his Sports minister after The Black Stars slumped to a 1-0 defeat in Sudan.

The Black Stars were beaten by their Sudanese counterparts in Omburman yesterday - Ghana's third successive defeat since Attuquayefio took charge. He lost his first game in charge in an African Nations Cup qualifier against DR Congo in Kinshasa, then the first of two World Cup qualifying defeat's against Liberia in Accra before yesterday's loss.

The country's new sports minister, Mallam Ali Yusif Issa, ordered the drafting of a report to detail why the team have failed to perform since Attuquayefio took charge.

The report is also expected to contain the coach's plans for the future and if Issa isn't impressed by Attuquayefio plans then it is likely that he will be fired.

Fans have started blaming the coach and a host of the players for Ghana's woes. According to some fans, they believe Attuquayefio is not the right person to handle the Black Stars and also think the attitude of the foreign-based players to the national cause has also contributed to Ghana's recent woes.
