Accra bourse bounces back on Ecobank advance

Accra, Jan. 10, GNA - The Ghana Stock Exchange recovered from Wednesday loss buoyed by huge price gains by Ecobank Ghana and three other equities during Thursday's trading session.

As result, the GSE All-Share Index, the benchmark measure, of the Accra Bourse rallied 30.3 points to close higher at 6,651.39 points compared to 6,621.09 points on Wednesday.

Change year to date now stands at 0.78 per cent up from 0.32 per cent.

Shares that changed hands, however, fell to 77,800 down 117,400 shares at the previous close.

On the broader market, there were four positive price changes. Ecobank Ghana gained 0.1150 GH cedis at 2.1652 GH cedis, CAL Bank was up 0.0001 GH cedis to close at 0.4556 GH cedis, SG-SSB went up 0.0001 GH cedis at 1.2651 GH cedis and Guinness Ghana Brewery Limited rose 0.0001 GH cedis at 1.2326 GH cedis.

Market capitalisation shot up to 12,400.37 million GH cedis from the previous close of 12,381.68 million GH cedis.
