Stock index inches up in slow trading

Accra, Aug. 22, GNA - The main stock index of the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) inched up in slow trading on Wednesday, as the bourse maintained its upward movement.

The GSE All-Share Index ended higher by 0.27 points at 5,487.22 points from 5,486.95 points while change for the year ended at 9.61 per cent.

Shares that changed hands were lower at 257,200 from 519,500 and market capitalisation rose to 11,664.80 million GH cedis from 11,664.04 million GH cedis.

There were three price changes, all positive.

Fan Milk Limited inched up 0.0001 GH cedis at 2.1056 GH cedis, Ghana Commercial Bank was GH=A2 0.0005 higher at GH=A2 0.8005 and SG-SSB Bank gained 0.0002 GH cedis at 0.9272 GH cedis.
