GSE All-Share index inches up

Accra, May 9, GNA - The GSE All-Share index, the benchmark measure, was up in a marginal gain although traded volumes were high on account of block sales in two equities.

The index rose 0.68 points to close at 5,149.61 points from the previous mark of 5,148.93 points. Shares that changed hands were half down at 535,600 shares, a drop from 1,054,000 registered on Tuesday. Change for year was 2.87 per cent.

On the broader market, there were seven price changes, all positive.

CAL made 10 cedis at 2,610 cedis, Ecobank Ghana was five cedis better at 14,205 cedis, Enterprise Insurance Company was up one cedi at 9,411 and Ghana Commercial Bank gained two cedis at 6,795 cedis. Other gainers are Guinness Ghana Brewery Limited, which went up by one cedi at 9,401, Super Paper Products Company had a 25 cedi gain at 250 cedis and SG-SSB gained five cedis at 6,530 cedis. Market capitalization ended the session at 113,367.04 billion cedis.
