Theresa Tagoe On Ministerial Sack List?

JAK To Decide Her Fate Soon!

That which begun as mere internal political party bickering within some constituencies of the New Patriotic (NPP), is gradually landing the affected party’s strongholds into a state of disarray.

The Crusading Guide newspaper can authoritatively report that as a result of similar internal wrangling among party members, the Member of Parliament for Ablekuma South and Deputy Greater Accra Regional Minister, Madam Theresa Amerley Tagoe is being pressured by the Greater Accra regional executives of the party to resign her position.

The executive body has therefore petitioned President John Agyekum Kufuor since last Wednesday at his residence to that effect. The President after receiving the petition was said to have assured his party men that he would look into the matter and deal with it within a week.A copy of the petition intercepted by the Crusading Guide newspaper cited numerous allegations against the deputy minister, thereby putting her conduct in question.

The MP was accused of organizing thugs to destabilize a constituency meeting and also assaulting her constituency chairman as well as causing the unlawful arrest of party executives. The affected Chairman, Mr. William Akakpo told the Crusading Guide that the MP was up in arm against him because of his refusal to allow her to have the final word on matters affecting the constituency.

Meanwhile, the Chairman who was briefly held in police custody for charges of violence said he would not be cowed into docility by the threats from his MP. Narrating the incident, Mr. Akakpo said his MP (Hon. Theresa Tagoe) together with some members of the constituency have attempted to use unconstitutional means to remove him from office as Chairman of the Constituency. According to him, the MP had instigated some constituency executives to pass a vote of no confidence to see his removal from office.

This move therefore sparked up a nasty scene at an organized constituency meeting as new interim executives elected by the MP clashed with the existing party officers who were also seeking to be recognized at the said meeting. Mr. Akakpo continued that “my MP has a penchant for removing executives, she normally does this when she realizes she is not being made to have her own way.” Asked why the MP was seriously bent on removing him from office he answered that “I suspect she is supporting a frustrated presidential hopeful and therefore wants to influence conditions to favour his cause

Although Mr. Sammy Crabbe, the Greater Accra Regional Chairman of NPP declined to comment about his relationship with Madam Theresa Tagoe, he said she (Theresa) had a track record of forcefully removing executives before the end of their term.
