NPP sure of Offinso South seat

The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, NPP, says the party is confident of winning the October 24 by-election in Offinso-South.

Nana Ohene Ntow said it is totally impossible for any other party to win the seat and the question of the NPP losing out again on the by-election is out of the question.

He said allegations of the party’s popularity sinking nationwide is only a ploy devised by opponents to win votes but the party is “101 percent sure to retain the seat” made vacant in August this year following the death of the then NPP MP, Kwabena Sarfo.

Nana Ohene Ntow told Joy News that the party’s campaign is progressing steadily and dismissed suggestions that opposing camps have been antagonistic towards each other.

He said apart from a carload of National Democratic Congress supporters who drove through a rally of the NPP at Kokote Junction and which passed without incident, the constituency has been peaceful.

He also refuted claims of vote buying and said contesting parties have attended their campaigns with decorum.

The NPP has chosen an Accra-based medical practitioner, Dr. Owusu Achaw Duah to contest on the party’s ticket.

The NDC on the other hand has as its candidate, a 32-year-old single mother who is currently pursing an LLB course at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
