CPP/PNC members urged to capitalise on NPP's 'lapses'

Tamale, Sept. 19, GNA - Members of the Convention People's Party (CPP) and the People's National Convention (PNC) have been advised to capitalize on the 'lapses' in the NPP government's performance and the 'confusion' in the NDC to win the 2008 general election.

A statement issued in Tamale on Tuesday and jointly signed by Mr. Alhassan Zakaria, Northern Regional Vice-Chairman of the PNC and Mr. Abdul Razak Abdulai, Lamashiegu Electoral Area Chairman of the CPP, called on the leadership of the two parties to come together and work out ways to win political power.

The statement held that 'the current problems within the NPP and NDC=94 were an indication that the CPP/PNC was capable of winning power easily if the two parties came together to fight a common cause.

"The harsh economic conditions under the NPP administration, coupled with the many negatives within the government indicate that the days of the NPP are numbered. The only alternative party to the NPP is the combined force of CPP/PNC," it said.
