Nii Okine faces another $236,000 writ

Accra - The CEPS Boss, Nii Okine Adjei, will soon appear before an Accra High Court for the unlawful auctioning of assorted goods valued at $176,000 and belonging to Wantanmal Boolchand, a Hong Kong-based United liability company.

This is after an ultimatum given the CEPS boss to cough $60,000 damages compensation is also being sought for the said amount by June 26th yielded no response.

A letter from Sam Okudzeto and Associates dated the 12th of June to the Commissioner of CEPS, Nii Okine Adjei, demanded a cheque covering the amount within 14 days from the date of issuance to amicably end the matter.

The CEPS, however, failed to oblige to the ultimatum, hence necessitating the court action. The letter signed by Nene Amegatcher stated that they acted for their client Wantanmal Boolchand and Company United of Hong-Kong .

According to the statement of claim dated 17th July, between July and August 1999, the plaintiff shipped 13 containers load of goods from various places of origin, including Hong Kong, Salemo, Kaoshiung and Hamburg to Accra, using the shipping line of Maersk Ghana Limited, the 2nd defendant in the case.

The assorted foods in the 13 containers were consigned " TO ORDER" and the notified party was Alfa Enterprises limited in all the Bill of Lading.
