Grand Sales opens in Accra

Accra, July 25, GNA - Annual sales event dubbed 'Grand Sales' opened in Accra on Tuesday with a call on exhibitors to adopt more customer-focused approach in attending to visitors.

More than 400 exhibitors in industry and commerce are participating in the 13-day event, which runs from July 25 to August 7 aimed at promoting Made in Ghana Products at the Trade Fair Site, La. Briefing journalists, Mr Kwame Ofori-Amanfo, Deputy Chief Executive of the Ghana Trade Fair Company, said the annual mid-year sales programme had contributed to the growth of commerce through competition among firms in the domestic market.

He said it had helped wholesalers to off-load their stocks at a bargain.

Mr Ofori-Amanfo called on the exhibitors to adopt healthy strategies to boost sales but cautioned against the display of unwholesome and expired goods.

He said the Company was going the extra mile to guarantee the safety of people and goods on the grounds by deploying the Police and the Military on a-24-hour surveillance. Mr Ofori-Amanfo asked the exhibitors to be vigilant when people visited their stands and to take insurance cover as a guard against any unforeseen occurrences at the fair grounds. He said there would be entertainment packages to attract visitors to the fair grounds.
