Accra, April 04, GHP - President John Agyekum Kufuor has nominated Mr Francis K. Poku for appointment as Minister of National Security.

Poku has been National Security Coordinator since Joshua Hamidu resigned his post in the early days of the Dagbon conflict.

A statement issued by the Office of the President on Tuesday and signed by Mr Kwadwo Okyere Mpiani, Chief of Staff and Minister of Presidential Affairs, said President Kufuor had also appointed Mrs Mary Chinery-Hesse as his Chief Adviser on Monitoring and Evaluation of Government Programmes.

The statement said Mr Ignatius Baffour Awuah, Deputy Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, had also been nominated as Brong Ahafo Regional Minister in place of Nana Kwadwo Seinti, who had been appointed Ghana's High Commissioner to Malaysia.
