The Member of Parliament (MP) for Klottey Korley, Ms Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings has donated fifteen sewing machines to some members of her constituency.

The sewing machines, which were donated in response to requests by some constituents, was to aid the individuals who were drawn from Adabraka and Osu in Accra in their sewing business.

Speaking at the presentation of the sewing machines on Thursday, 19 December 2019, the opposition MP charged the recipients to put the sewing machines to good use in order to transform lives in their communities.

Dr Agyeman-Rawlings also advised the recipients not to keep their skills to themselves, but also train other youth in their various communities, so, the benefits will have a multiplying effect in their community.

She said: “When we invest in women, by and large, the entire family benefits from it. Now that you have the machines, you must also do something good for somebody else. Identify some young people in your vicinity who are interested in sewing and mentor them.”

She added that she will continue to invest her time and resources toward helping to develop the capacity of her constituents.

One of the beneficiaries, Mary Akoto, on behalf of her colleagues, thanked the MP for the gesture.

“I wish to express my sincerest gratitude to the MP for this wonderful gesture, and I urge all constituents to continue to support her as she serves us. This sewing machine will help change my life for the best.”
