Your prophetic methods are not wise – Joe Jackson

Chief Operations Officer at the Dalex Finance, Joe Jackson is admonishing 'under fire' Founder of Glorious Word Ministries, Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah to ‘apply wisdom’ to his prophetic ministrations considering his current methods are pretty rash and inconsiderate.

Speaking on the back of recent controversies about prophecies the latter made about some prominent figures and statesmen at the dawn of the new year, Mr. Jackson noted that prophecies, although they are meant to edify the church may result in chaos if not handled wisely.

According to him, Rev. Owusu Bempah should have been very tactful about how he conveyed ‘messages’ he received from God more so because some of them bordered on religious boundaries.

Private consultations he suggests, would have been one out of the many ideal ways to convey the messages about ‘death and doom’ to these personalities to avoid all the brouhaha that followed.

“He made a prophecy about the Chief Imam, for me, that was very serious. Between freedom of religion and Freedom of Speech, there are several bolt holes in between them”.

“The difficulty I have is that the Bible enjoins us to speak with wisdom so it is not so much about whether he saw it and really, whether he saw it or not, who am I to sit here and say that he didn’t see what he thought he saw”.

“Did he speak with wisdom? Was that the best way to present it? Couldn’t he have sent a private message to the Chief Imam to say that “this is what I saw, call your people to pray for you?” why did it have to be in so public a manner? Let’s not underestimate the power of speech to inflame the masses. I have no problem with whether he made a prophecy, whether he saw it? My challenge with him is that really I think that more wisdom could have been applied.”

“I don’t want to argue about whether God spoke through him or not, I’m not qualified to judge but please, was that wise? I don’t know and I don’t think it was wise.”, he said.

Chaos erupted two days into the year at the church premises of Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah after he made some very profound statements about some personalities in the country, most notably the Chief Imam, Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia and Former Presidents John Agyekum Kufuor and Mahama.

Addressing congregants at the annual crossover service into the new year, the man of God predicted among other things that the nation will mourn over the deaths of these persons if prayers are not offered to avert them.

Some irate youth purported to be Muslim besieged the premises of the church two days after to destroy properties including chairs, glass windows and signboards at the church. This attracted security at the place as police personnel tried to restore calm and prevent any further destruction.

Many including members of the Chief Immam and the clergy have condemned the act. Others however have castigated the man of God for always ‘spewing’ out doom messages and on a public platform for that matter.

Meanwhile the controversial man of God has himself dispelled the reports; further accusing members of the opposition NDC of being behind the attack and alleging that notable personalities within the party are planning to eliminate him.
