The Chairman of the Bono Regional Council of Chiefs, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II, has commended the Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, for his demeanor in public engagements.

He noted that he had observed Dr. Bawumia on social media during his campaign tours and he had recognized his respectful approach towards chiefs when he visits palaces to seek their support.

He also appreciated the vice president's restraint from using insults when addressing issues and criticisms, highlighting it as a commendable trait of his personality.

This exchange occurred when Dr. Bawumia paid a courtesy call on the Bono Regional House of Chiefs to garner their support and discuss their concerns ahead of the general elections.

"I must say that you are a very respectful person, I won't let you leave before saying this. When you go to palaces, the way you greet shows that you are respectful and knowledgeable. I have been watching you on social media. One thing I admire about your politics is that your utterances are devoid of insults.

"I have never heard you speak ill about others. Even when you are provoked, you could have retaliated once, but you don’t do that. So, we are grateful to you. It is God who makes kings, so we will leave it to him," he told Dr. Bawumia during the meeting.

As Ghana approaches the polls on December 7, 2024, to elect a president and Members of Parliament, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia leads the NPP, while John Dramani Mahama spearheads the NDC's efforts to reclaim power from the NPP.
