Nana Addo has charged authorities of Qatar to treat Ghanaians well - The president made this call when the ambassador of Qatar visited him in Accra

Government of Ghana has issued a stern warning to authorities of the State of Qatar over the reported case of the maltreatment of Ghanaians.

This warning was issued when the ambassador to the state of Qatar, Mohammed Jaber Al-Kuwari, presented Nana Addo with his letter of credentials.

According to President Akufo-Addo, the ill-treatment of Ghanaians has “been a constant complaint, and I think that the good relations that exist between our two countries mean that authorities in Qatar should try and do something about it, so that those complaints can stop.”

The statement by the president follows the revoking of recruitment Ghanaians to the Gulf States following the ill treatment of Ghanaian immigrants in these countries. Meanwhile, the foreign affairs minister, Shirley Ayorkor Botchway has warned Ghanaians both home and abroad to desist from travelling to the Gulf States illegally.

This was after authorities in the region issued a 90 day free pass for all illegal migrants to pack and leave the country or face their wrath.
