You'll be sacked If NDC wins in 2020 – Yammin warns Jean Mensa

Former Deputy Minister for Youths and Sport under the Mahama administration, Joseph Yammin says the current Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC) Madam Jean Mensa should know that sacking her is non-negotiable.

According him, the EC boss should consider herself sacked if the National Democratic Congress (NDC) returns to power in 2021, MyNewsGh.com reports.

“Jean Mensa should know that she is an appointee, therefore, just as I was sacked from the NADMO without a letter because I am an appointee, Jean Mensa should prepare for same,” Joseph Yammin told a local radio in Kumasi monitored by MyNewsGh.com.

According to him, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) removed the former EC Chairperson Mrs Charlotte Osei just to score cheap political points and not because of the litany of allegations levelled against her and the deputies.

To him, the Akufo-Addo-led government changed the boss of Ghana’s electoral body to favour them rig the election 2020 but his party the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will not allow that to happen as measures are being put in place to guard against such acts.

Jean Mensa he observed has failed her first duty as the EC boss because she was not able to properly supervise the just ended referendum conducted to create new regions in the country on December 27 2018.

Joseph Yammin asserted that, it is not possible to get a 100% turnout at a polling station during elections hence the NPP and Madam Jean Mensah conducted the Referendum to suit their party’s political ambition and not to the interest of Ghanaians.

Speaking to current issues at the EC, he indicated that since the Electoral Commission had already changed its logo, it was totally wrong for Jean Mensah and his officers to use the old logo on accreditation for this year’s referendum which was held in some regions of the country.

“When you change the logo you change everything about the electoral commission so it‘s only for you to go back and be using something used in 2016 which you criticized by saying it’s not a good thing to adopt to. Meanwhile the EC has not complained it did not received the amount it requested for”, he said.

“This is a clear sign or indication that the NPP government all that is thinking to sustain a government is the reason why it has appointed Madam Jean Mensah to rig the election but I can assure you the NPP is joking, people of Ghana decide the winner”, he assured
