You can't operate successfully with unemployed youth around - Ellembele MP to ENI-Ghana

Member of Parliament for the Ellembele Constituency in the Western Region Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah has urged ENI-Ghana, an energy company in the Ellembele district to empower the youth in their operational area to have a livelihood. Mr Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah who said this at the commissioning of a Water project at Sanzule in the Ellembele district added that the laying off of workers by sub-contractors of ENI-Ghana is not the best. He said the company cannot operate successful in the area with unemployed angry youth.

In this regard the former Petroleum Minister urged ENI-Ghana to find a solution together with the traditional authorities by training and empowering the youth with sustainable skills that will make them productive to earn a living. Mr Armah Kofi Buah however commended ENI-Ghana for their continuous support to the affected communities in health and education.

He assured the company of regular support and from the communities, the Member of Parliament and the district chief executive.

The Managing Director of ENI-Ghana, Giacarlo Ruiu said the Sanzule, Krisan and Bakanta water project is just a part of a bigger program designed to support the affected communities and the western region. He said the decision to build the water system was based on a need assessment carried out to understand what the company could make in other to improve the standard of living.

Mr Ruiu thank the communities for their hospitality and support.
