International Money transfer giant WorldRemit has launched a competition for Ghanaians in the Diaspora aimed at giving away chances to win free trips back to the motherland.

The competition is part of numerous efforts being undertaken by the company to commemorate Ghana's 61st Independence celebrations.

To win the pair of tickets, Ghanaians living abroad simply have to leave a comment on the Facebook page of WorldRemit recounting what they love most about Ghana.

The winners would be selected from the comments and rewarded with free trips back home.

The company has taken several steps to celebrate Ghana's big day which occurred on Tuesday, 6th March, including interviewing rising Ghanaian female activists, feeding Ghanaian dishes to their diverse international staff and launching this competition.

WorldRemit is an international money transfer agency which started its money transfer operations in the US in 2014.

Founded by entrepreneur Ismail Ahmed in 2010, WorldRemit has secured $220 million in funding including from Accel and TCV – early investors in Facebook, Spotify, Netflix and Slack.
