A registered dietician, Dr Frank Marful-Sau, has emphasized the need for the public to ensure that the food supplements they consume, specifically nutraceuticals, conform to regulatory standards.

Among other precautions, Dr Marful-Sau also urged consumers to ensure such products are sourced from reputable vendors to avoid falling victim to counterfeit drugs and their associated risks.

“As a buyer or consumer, you need to ensure that every supplement you purchase is regulated by the FDA (Food and Drugs Authority). And you shouldn't rely solely on the stamp or label because, these days, many people can imitate such features.

“So, make sure that you’re buying from the right sources. Reputable sellers are concerned about their reputation and are unlikely to sell counterfeit products.

“Also, pay attention to the price; if it’s unusually cheap, that should raise concerns.

"These are some of the things you should look out for when purchasing these products,” he stated.

The nutritionist made these remarks on the sidelines of an event organized by QNET in commemoration of the 2025 International World Health Day on Monday, April 7, 2025.

Dr Marful-Sau highlighted the importance of nutraceuticals in addressing nutrient deficiencies and imbalances, as well as supporting overall nutritional health.

On her part, the Global Compliance Officer of QNET addressed the issue of fraud and scams being perpetrated in the company’s name by unscrupulous individuals.

She stressed that QNET, as a direct selling company, does not offer employment or travel opportunities.

“We don’t offer jobs. The direct selling model is based on selling products—not on recruiting people. If you want to earn from QNET, you register, sell products, and earn a commission,” Naana Quartey said.

“QNET has nothing to do with recent scams. We don’t just conduct anti-scam campaigns—we also provide support for scam victims. We pay lawyers to help them seek justice,” she added.

Mrs. Quartey emphasized that the company remains committed to working with relevant state agencies to ensure that individuals committing crimes under QNET’s name are brought to justice. She therefore urged victims to come forward, stating that the company is ready to offer legal assistance to help them receive justice.
